On Friday, February 23, the Huntingburg Public Library hosted a mobile food distribution together with the Tri-State Food Bank of Evansville. Recipients were lined up in the Memorial Gym parking lot well ahead of the distribution’s 10:00 a.m. start time. Library staff distributed a total of 92 food boxes and 66 5-pound bags of Clementine oranges throughout the two-hour event. Boxes not distributed by the end of the event at noon were then taken to the Shared Abundance food bank located on Fourth Street in downtown Huntingburg.
“This was a very positive outreach to our community,” library director Lisa McWilliams said. “We hope to do this again in the future.”
