Indiana’s State Parks Welcome You Seven-Day Park Pass Now Available to Patrons

How would you like to visit an Indiana State Park property this summer – at no cost to you?

The Huntingburg Public Library is pleased to offer all our patrons the Indiana State Parks Adventure Backpack – complete with a seven-day ISP letter pass good at all Indiana state parks and properties all year long.

Here’s how it works.

Any patron aged 18 and over may borrow the Adventure Backpack from the Library for a total of seven days at no charge. That means you could visit a state park every day for a week and waive the usual in-state entrance fee of $7 per vehicle.

Included in the Backpack is one laminated ISP letter pass; one magnifying glass, one pair of binoculars with case; one Indiana Recreational Guide, one copy of the book Bug Hunt, and one small magnifying glass inside the book.

A few rules: The Backpack may be borrowed for a maximum of seven (7) days with no renewal; $5.00 charge for items returned in dirty condition; overdue fines are $5.00 per day with no grace period; and the Backpack must be returned in person to the Circulation Desk.

Indiana state park resources closest to our local area include Lincoln State Park in Spencer County and Patoka Lake in Dubois, Crawford, and Orange counties in southern Indiana on the Patoka River.

Managed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the Indiana State Parks system includes 24 state parks and seven small satellite locations, eight reservoir properties, two state forest recreation areas, and two off-road riding areas. Park visitors may explore nature on 700 miles of trails and 15 freshwater beaches across the state.
