It Has Started!! Library Renovation Underway - Groundbreaking Set

In case you haven’t noticed, our long-awaited renovation is underway!

Bright and early at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19, primary contractor Krempp Construction had started in on the multi-million dollar project. Within the first two weeks, they had set up their construction trailer along our Jackson Street driveway entrance, taken out all interior walls in the lower level, and dug out and removed all earth from the outside wall adjoining Fifth Street.

A groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the project has been set for Friday, September 6, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. on the library grounds. The public is cordially invited to attend and join in the festivities.

Our renovation will update and expand the library by adding 2,170 square feet to the building and improving the library’s lighting, furnishings, and layout. Architectural renderings of the changes now being made a reality can be found in the library next to our Indiana History Room.
